A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE SUPERVISOR
As a Therapeutic Foster Care Supervisor, you coordinate many of the moving parts at our new Therapeutic Foster Home. This program cares for youth with mental health and acute behavior problems for 6-9 months at a time in a home environment, serving as a bridge to permanent family placements.
You interview, select, train, and evaluate the team. Under your leadership, your team works together to support youth to live in a safe and enriching environment and maximize opportunities for their development in all realms of their lives.
You facilitate a culture that values foster parents and supports their voice as full members of the team. Your style of leadership fosters teamwork, respect, accountability, and trust.
You ensure that practices are consistent with TCI and the CARE practice model, programming is intentionally focused on treatment goals and permanency, and casework services are provided in accordance with the DCFS contract, court orders, and case plans.
Proactively, you ensure the development and implementation of clinically sound individualized crisis management plans. You work with team members to engage families in the treatment and planning.
Your job is highly collaborative as you work closely with Hoyleton colleagues, DCFS, the courts, and other community organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE SUPERVISOR
- Master's degree in social work, education, or another human services field
- Licensure by DCFS or eligibility for licensure (LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT)
- 3 years of professional experience in providing social services specifically to families and children
- Ability to create, develop, sustain, and lead a team of professionals
- Ability to provide service in a manner that reflects an appreciation for the cultural background, heritage, and identity of clients and their families, work peers, and other associates
- Driver's license in good standing and proof of auto insurance
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Leadership ability
Prior supervisory experience is preferred, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Are you patient, respectful, tactful, and calm under pressure?
Do you have excellent interpersonal skills? Are you able to communicate effectively with diverse people in different roles, both verbally and in writing?

WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time social services management position typically works 40-hour weeks with occasional participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
