Mammography Technologist

This position is located at our North Providence, RI and Providence, RI clinical sites. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8 : 30 AM- 5 : 00 PM (North Providence) Saturday 8 : 00 AM- 12 : 00 PM (Providence) Under the general supervision of the Manager, Radiologic Technologist and according to established policies and procedures, performs the functions of a Mammography Technologist.

The Mammography Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adheres to radiation safety measures. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Complete patient education regarding the exam and promote comfort for the patient
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered
• Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
• Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate
• Perform quality control functions related to mammography
• Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE :

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work as a team member
• Continually sets the example of professionalism, flexibility and high levels of patient care.
• Must possess general knowledge of equipment, its location and vendors.
• Responsible for keeping the site manager informed of any equipment problems.

EXPERIENCE : A technologist with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a mammographer. Must possess two years’ experience in performing mammography QA under the MQSA Standard.

Must be ARRT registered; grad of Radiologic Technology Program. TOMO experience preferred. Join an award-winning organization!
