Job Description

The AbbVie EXCEL Externship Overview

The AbbVie EXCEL Externship is a two-day immersive experience for sophomore students interested in future internships with AbbVie.

Students will join us at AbbVie's Headquarters in Lake County, IL during the Summer of 2025 to :

Get immersed in AbbVies culture

Gain hands-on experience in a variety of key business areas

Build an extended network of AbbVie representatives, senior leaders, and students from across the country

Participate in cross-functional professional development opportunities

Learn more about AbbVies career opportunities

Be considered for an internship for the following summer

AbbVie will provide travel, transportation, and lodging for eligible students.

The AbbVie Excel Externship in Business Technology Solutions serves as a key talent pipeline for our Business Technology Solutions AbbVie Internship Program.

Externship participants are strongly considered for Internship opportunities within Business Technology Solutions for the following year.

Our BTS team works on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide, while also combining technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

Pursuing a Bachelors degree with an expected graduation date between Dec2026 - June2027.

Majoring in or strong interest in exploring opportunities in :

Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, User Design, Business Administration

Preferred Qualifications :

Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities

Previous internship or related experience

Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity

Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills

Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred
