About This Role :

The Hybrid Cloud Engineer I is pivotal in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid cloud solutions to enhance the scalability and performance of the university's IT infrastructure.

This position supports the Hybrid Cloud Organization in implementing robust cloud architectures across public and private components, optimizing cloud environments through automation and real-time monitoring.

Additionally, the role involves collaborating closely with IT security teams and other IT departments to integrate security measures, manage resources efficiently, and ensure high levels of end-user satisfaction by maintaining a responsive and effective cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Need to Succeed :

Minimum Qualifications :

Requires a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, or a related field.
  • Cloud Computing Experience : Solid experience in managing hybrid cloud environments, with a focus on cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and management.

Understanding of public and private cloud dynamics is essential.

Technical Proficiency : Demonstrated proficiency in using cloud technologies and tools, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and private cloud solutions.

Experience with cloud automation tools, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud security practices.

Collaborative and Vendor Interaction Skills : Proven ability to work effectively within a team, and with cloud service providers and technology vendors.

Understanding of the contractual and operational aspects of cloud service agreements and collaborations.

Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying complex cloud strategies and configurations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
