Environmental Compliance Inspector

Merit Professional Services is looking to hire a full-time Environmental Compliance Inspector for our inspection route located in the Austin region.

NOTE : This is not a remote position.

Our Environmental Compliance Inspectors enjoy flexible hours and a dynamic work environment. As an Environmental Compliance Inspector, you will be assigned 10 to 13 construction projects to visit per day.

While on site, you will observe stormwater pollution prevention controls and verify that they are working properly. You will communicate directly with construction managers and site superintendents on what actions they need to take in order to maintain compliance with local, TCEQ and EPA regulations.

You will be given all the tools and training to be successful. Inspector will be assigned a company vehicle, laptop, printer, cell phone, and internet hotspot.

Requirements :

• CESSWI, CESSWI-IT, CISEC, CPESC or CPESC-IT certification is preferred but not required. However, Environmental Compliance Inspector must be CISEC, CESSWI, or CESSWI-IT certified within ninety (90) days of hire.
• An environmental degree or experience in stormwater inspecting / consulting is highly preferred but not required.
• Construction experience is helpful, but not required.
• You must be comfortable driving several hours each day.
• You must have excellent customer service skills as you will be interacting with each project's on-site client representative.
• Computer literacy, fast typing, and the ability to navigate and use the Microsoft Office Suite are required.
