Instructor Sociology

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York.

Department : Education and Social Sciences

Instructor - Sociology HV-FAC-8853

Full Time Tenured Track

Minimum qualifications : Master's Degree in Sociology or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university and previous college teaching experience.

Ability to teach on campus classes during the daytime.

Preferred qualifications : Experience teaching online, hybrid, and in person classes. Ability to teach in other social science areas.

DUTIES AND / OR RESPONSIBILITIES :

Provide instruction in sociology including teaching introduction to sociology and additional sociology courses at the 100 level.

Teach in other social science areas as needed.

• Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the College.
• Collaborate with colleagues on course and program development as well as transfer course review.
• Participate in departmental, division wide, and / or college wide committees.
• At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.

The Salary for this academic year position is $52,000.00.
