Position Summary
Technical Writer with a passion for technical documentation development and revision. Candidate should be skilled at understanding complex mechanical and electrical systems and creating and editing in-depth technical documentation.
Candidate also brings a history of working with product engineering and manufacturing teams to create tools to educate and advance the knowledge of vehicle documentation and diagnostics procedures.
Position Responsibilities
- Creation and ownership of technical training materials including Service Manual, Maintenance Manual, Troubleshooting Procedures, Special Production Instructions, Retrofit Instructions, etc.
- Interpretation of NHTSA, NFPA, and OSHA standards to implement procedures and regulations into the aforementioned documents
- Working integrally with the Product Engineering Departments to develop documents prior to product release
- Working with the Service Support Team to generate Technical Service Bulletins
- Following the Engineering Change Request processes to implement changes into existing documentation
Position Qualifications
- Technical Writing Experience
- 2+ years of Automotive or related technical experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- Ability to convey complex technical procedures in clear and concise language
- Excellent Organizational Skills
- Adept at interpreting standards of measurement, specifically electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications : Word, Excel, and Outlook
