Surety Senior Claims Professional Attorney113452Zurich North America is hiring an Surety Senior Claims Professional (Attorney) to join our team! We are open to hiring talent in who is located within the U.

S.. This is a virtual position so you will have a home-based office. There is no billable hours and we will teach you surety.

In this role, you will manage a caseload of moderate to high complexity Surety claims from start through settlement and resolution, and within specific authority limits.

You will ensure that claims are handled in the most efficient and effective manner to deliver on Zurich’s claims best practices and customer led commitment.

You will have an opportunity to develop strong partnerships that include extensive communications and interactions with principals, brokers and other internal business unit contacts.

Primary accountabilities include : Analyzing coverage, liability and damagesParticipating in mediations and negotiating settlementsDrafting coverage and denial letters, underwriter notification of claim issues, etc.

Drafting case summary reports in connection with significant reserve increases and trial preparationDirecting activities of defense counselYou must be able to travel approximately 25% to visit project sites or for other business needs that may arise.

Basic Qualifications : Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in the Legal areaANDJD and 5 or more years of legal practice experience in the insurance areaMust obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)Experience in insurance claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environmentNegotiation experienceCustomer service experienceMicrosoft Office experiencePreferred Qualifications : Member of the barDetail orientedStrong verbal, written and interpersonal skillsCompensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.

Other rewards may include short term incentive bonuses and merit increases. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education.

The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position.

The starting salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $170,000.00.As a condition of employment at Zurich, employees must adhere to any COVID-related health and safety protocols in place at that time ( ).
