JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where at-risk students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, behavioral, physical, and psychological growth and for organizing and implementing an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with District policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education or related field
- Two years’ experience working with students who have been identified as off-track
- Experience in successfully integrating technology into classroom instruction
- Experience in intensive classroom academic prevention and intervention implementation; OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
Positions that require a district issued vocational certificate; a bachelor’s degree may not be required.
Condition to Earn
Candidates for teaching positions who do not have the required qualifications will have the opportunity to agree to and sign a Condition to Earn statement with the following requirements :
Obtain certification in a content area in the grade level of the teaching assignment within the school year in which they are hired.
Failure to complete this requirement will result in non-reappointment of the employee the following school year.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
Valid Florida’s Educator’s Certificate in a core content area in the grade level of the teaching assignment
Candidates with an eligible 2023-24 Effective or High Effective State VAM comprised of at least 10 student assessments that provide direct instruction to students during the 2024-25 school year will be eligible to receive funds through the UniSIG Supplemental Teacher Allocation.
The allocation will provide up to $7,500 for those with an Effective state VAM rating and up to $15,000 for those with a highly effective state VAM rating.
