Your Opportunity

Stantec's Rochester Transportation group has an immediate need for a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in highway and urban street design.

We are looking for a talented, team focused, and creative individual with a positive attitude and strong MicroStation and Inroads skills.

You will work on a variety of project types including complete streets, expressways, and trails throughout New York State and beyond.

You will join an energetic team of engineers and planners who are passionate about Reconnecting Communities with a network of multimodal facilities.

This is a hybrid position in our Rochester New York office. Our Rochester office is in the historic High Falls business district with easy access to the greater Rochester area.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design complete streets, expressways, and multiuse facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists in accordance with AASHTO, NACTO, MUTCD, and NYSDOT specifications.
• Develop design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Assist in preparing engineering reports and technical studies.
• Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and specialty subconsultants.
• Perform field investigations and construction phase services support.
• Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.
• Work alongside experienced practitioners to expand your knowledge.
• Provide guidance to influence and mentor team members.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Familiarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MicroStation, Inroads, OpenRoads,AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Programs such as Excel.
• Experience working with NYSDOT CAD Standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both office and virtual environments.
• Pro-active attitude, attention to detail, punctual, and organized.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Enjoy challenges, problem-solving, and researching possible solutions.

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
• EIT required with NYS PE preferred
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in complete street and highway design.

Position will primarily work in an office or virtual setting; may require some field work.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s) :

Salary Range(s) :

$84,900 - $123,100 Min / Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC / NY

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary / casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
