The Molding Technician role will mainly perform setup, sampling, and start up of production runs on injection molding machines.
This is a Non-Exempt, hourly position that reports directly to the Lead Mold Technician.
Essential Job Functions include
- Verifies operations to be performed and material to be used on each job as directed by documentation or supervisor.
- Responsible for starting and production of injection molding Machine equipment.
- Responsible for starting auxiliary equipment i.e. mold heaters, chiller / cooling equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic accessories.
- Manage and create and update processing documentation of processing applications.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve injection molding processing and equipment failures
- Responsible for sampling new engineering grade materials and proto type molds prior to production.
- Perform basic mold and machine maintenance.
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment.
- Basic parts inspection. Visual and dimensionally.
- Work productively and cooperatively with others while maintaining clear communications.
- Assist in scheduling and staffing orders.
- Accurately completes all required paperwork at completion of job.
- Maintains a safe work area.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Education :
High School diploma or GED required
Experience :
Three years of molding machine experience or five years in comparable manufacturing environment.
Knowledge / Skills :
Setup and operation of all types of injection molding machines. Know basic shop math. Understanding of problem solving techniques, and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements :
- Factory Environment
- Work on a variety of molding machines and / or molding related equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs routinely.
- Work must be performed on site during business hours.
