We’re looking for a full-time Certified Payroll Assistant to join our fast-growing construction company in Rocklin. This role offers a flexible schedule in a casual, pet-friendly office environment.

In this role, you’ll assist the Certified Payroll Specialist with compiling, processing, and maintaining labor compliance and certified payroll records.
You’ll also ensure payroll accuracy, support certified payroll reporting, handle data entry, and help with new hire onboarding.
Attention to detail is crucial for our complex payroll needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Payroll Support : Assist with payroll data entry and weekly payroll review, ensuring accuracy with wage determinations and general labor compliance.
- Excel Database Management : Maintain and update Excel databases for prevailing wage determinations, ensuring accurate application to specific jobs.
- Certified Payroll Processing : Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects, ensuring labor compliance.
- Reporting & Documentation : Generate reports to ensure payroll records are accurate and up to date.
- New Hire Onboarding : Support onboarding for new hires, ensuring labor compliance paperwork is completed.
- General Administration : Provide administrative support to the Certified Payroll Specialist and follow standard office procedures.
- Labor Compliance Tasks : Assist with XML document review, DIR eCPR uploads, LCP Tracker setup, and public works labor compliance administration.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to state and federal labor standards, including the Davis-Bacon Act and California Labor Code.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Experience : Prior experience in the construction field required, prior experience in high-volume construction payroll is a plus!
- Excel Skills : Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required).
- Attention to Detail : Strong focus on accuracy and reviewing data for compliance.
- Professionalism : Friendly demeanor with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Administrative Skills : Ability to handle administrative, clerical, and data entry tasks with precision.
- Confidentiality : Maintain discretion and sound judgment with payroll and compliance information.
- Independence : Ability to work independently and professionally accept feedback.
- Preferred Knowledge : Familiarity with labor compliance practices, construction trade classifications, and public works projects is a plus.
- Pet-Friendly : Must love dogs and be comfortable in a pet-friendly office.
