Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining policies to ensure a secure and healthy work environment.
This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations throughout the company, conducting regular facility inspections, developing preventive measures, leading training initiatives, and investigating workplace incidents to prevent future occurrences.
Responsibilities :
Conducts inspections of the facility to identify risks related to safety, health, and the environment.
Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures for inspections, along with a schedule of regular facility inspections and environmental, health, and safety management systems.
Creates health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
Plans and schedules training sessions on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Ensures compliance with safety procedures by monitoring and auditing the workplace regularly.
Prepares inspection reports to document findings from inspections.
Maintains and ensures accessibility of material safety data sheets when needed.
Keeps records of hazardous waste discharge and employee exposure to hazardous substances, as required by regulations.
Performs other assigned duties as necessary.
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field. Or Bachelor's Degree with relevant experience.
Preferred 5+ years of related experience.
Experience with ISO is a mandatory requirement.
Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in technology and equipment used for environmental inspections.
