STIPEND FOR LICENSE. This position will be paid an additional monthly stipend of $500 for a current Master or Journeyman Electrical, Plumbing license or HVAC Class A or B license.
The license must be issued by the State of Texas and maintained in a current status.

Purpose
To provide journey level and / or Master Multi-Crafted technical trade skills in the performance of work, which may require troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs of commercial kitchen equipment and HVAC in our dining facilities, residence halls, and apartments.
Responsibilities
Perform kitchen equipment repairs (primary) in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC mechanical systems, and other multi-crafted work as assigned.
Experience in heating and cooling systems, refrigeration systems, and ice makers.Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment such as hot side, cold side, refrigeration, and exhaust hoods.
Provide multi-crafted work in other trade areas to include but not limited to electrical, plumbing, carpenter, and painting as needed.
Analyze computer-generated work orders and prioritize work.Use troubleshooting techniques and diagnostics to identify system and equipment malfunction.
Coordinate repairs with other trades as needed. Inspect and evaluate work as needed to meet standards. Demonstrate effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to correct repair on the first call.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Communicate with supervisor, staff, and residents regarding needed repairs and work order status.
Follow through with written and oral instructions from and to supervisor.
Complete and submit paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.Sign off completed work orders, provide status updates for work orders, perform preventive maintenance documentation, recommend necessary parts and repairs, and use UT procedures to order parts as needed.
Charge out all material and account for all inventory used.Return all unused inventory into the system. Perform inventory of all inventory items as required.
Drive a UT vehicle to work site, transporting equipment and supplies as needed to perform routine and preventive maintenance, and / or repairs.
Participate and is involved with safety on the job and in the shop. Assist other co-workers with safety-related events when necessary.
Report all unsafe acts or safety-related concerns to the safety rep, supervisor, and / or Safety Specialist. Promote and train on lock-out / tag-out program.
Carry a UT cell phone and be on the on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as requested. Perform and respond to emergency repairs 24 / 7 and facilitate completion as needed.
Work weekends and overtime as determined by the supervisor.
Promote professional development of self and all staff to improve knowledge and work skills through ongoing training and workshops, including monthly safety training.
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or GED.
At least 5 years of experience building construction, mechanical, or utilities trade specified and at least 3 of those years being journey level experience.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
More than five years of journey level experience in troubleshooting and repairs of commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, beverage, and ice machines.
Experience with maintenance and repair which includes crafts trade for facilities maintenance and / or experience in HVAC air conditioning, heating, controls experience, refrigeration, maintenance, and repairs.
Licensed by the State of Texas as a Class A or Class B journey level HVAC mechanic.
Currently licensed as a journey level Plumber or Electrician.
Commercial and residential renovation experience, experience in maintenance and repair of apartments or residential halls.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
Salary Range
$58,500+ depending on qualifications

Work Shift
Monday - Friday, 7 : 30AM - 4 : 30PM. Workdays, area, and hours may vary based on the department's needs.
