Job Details
Position Summary :
The position reports to the VP Controller and is responsible for providing financial decision support to the Corporate Office.
This position supports the accounting department and manages the administration of accounting policies, procedures, and programs.
In addition, the position serves as a liaison between the operating divisions, the FP&A department and the compliance department.
Essential Job Functions :
- Month-end : Review, analyze and approve journal entries and data uploads for accuracy and completeness, review monthly account analysis that are prepared by senior and staff accountants and review financial and operational reports to identify and explain significant fluctuations.
- Work with operating divisions and finance to provide the accounting department with field information needed for the month-end accounting close.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements and review with FP&A.
- Prevent inaccuracies in financial statements by adopting and maintaining proper policies and procedures for financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to streamline journal entries and financial reporting steps.
- Ensure controls are in place to protect company assets from loss and to protect confidential information from disclosure.
- Assist all facilities with parts inventory analysis.
- Mentor, train and develop department accountants.
- Monitor the company’s compliance with its Capital Expenditure policy.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses at the direction of the Controller.
- Serve as a link between IT for technical assistance with accounting systems and maintain training docs
- Assist with year-end audit.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or any other related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in accounting
- 5 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications :
CPA License
