POSITION SUMMARY - Maintain and repair all specialty equipment related to all coating processes. Perform Preventative and Predictive Maintenance on all coating process equipment.
Rebuild and repair spray guns, pumps, dryers and other equipment on coating lines. May act as a lead person on maintenance or repair jobs.
Typically expected to solve most work problems independently and to make recommendations to supervisory personnel regarding those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions, and unusual problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT- Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to set up and adjust all equipment related to all companies coating processes
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust equipment accordingly
- Rebuild and repair pumps, application guns and other specialized equipment
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
- Perform regular preventive / predictive maintenance on all specialty equipment
- Maintain, repair and improve systems to achieve optimum performance
- Order and maintain a parts inventory for machines dedicated to coating processes
- Attend meetings and advise management on coating processes
- Learn and understand all chemicals used in the coatings processes
- Monitor effects coating processes have on waste water treatment
- Know the different settings of the machines for different materials to make changes
- Understand, maintain, and operate mechanical functions of equipment in coating area
- Assist / Advise Automation and Maintenance Technicians when working in coating areas
- Work with Quality Control to assure proper function of coating machinery
- Train Automation, Maintenance Technicians and Painters on coating processes
- Ability to stop the production line and / or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
- Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, manuals, work orders, and control plans
- Ability to utilize a variety of hand tools and equipment
- Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, JLG lifts
- Ability to communicate and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to run all equipment necessary
- Must be quality driven and have good housekeeping habits
- Establish, maintain, and foster cooperative working relations with others
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education : High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred
Experience : Two years related experience preferred; Must be able to be trained on the job
Computer Skills : Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Outlook
Certificates & Licenses : Must pass written and driving test for forklift certification
Other Requirements : Must be fitted for a respirator and pass a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and must be willing to travel out of state for job specific training.
