Quality Inspector

Summary : The Quality Inspector is responsible to perform all the required inspections on product to assure compliance to company's Quality System, Specifications and Customer RequirementsThe Quality Inspector must communicate to the Lead Inspector of anything that is happening on the Manufacturing department to ensure actions are taken to resolve any issue.

Major duties and responsibilities : -Follow Safety Requirements and Participate in the Safety Training Program.-Follow policies and procedures related to the job.

• Is familiar with defects as related to Plastics Injection molded parts.-Follow instructions on Operator Work Instructions (OWi).
• Package product based on Operator Work Instructions (OWi).-Report discrepancies to Shift Lead, Technician.-Relieve Operators for breaks as applicable.
• Oversees the beginning and ending partial counts and ensures the accuracy of those counts as applicable.-Turn in Production Counts to the Lead Operator at the end of the shift as applicable.
• Verifies labels have all the correct information as applicable.-Places and ensures that all labels are at the correct machines as applicable.
• Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating defects found in product to Technician and / or production supervisor.
• Verifies that raw materials type and lot number on Gaylords and Dryers are assigned to the right Injection molding machines.
• Performs Dimensional Inspection, as required in accordance with the applicable Inspection Standards and Instructions (ISi), of the product being manufactured at assigned Injection molding machines.
• Functional Inspection of product being manufactured at assigned Injection molding machines, as required, using specific fixtures, gages, and instrumentation.
• Reads blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product to comply with customer requirements.
• Performs Final Inspection of product being manufactured at assigned Injection molding machines (AQLs')-Performs Start-up and Shut-Down reports and forward to management and appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate and legible Inspection records and documentation for assigned Injection molding machines.-Fills out a PIDR or DMR for Quality Discrepancies not meeting with Customer specifications.

Identifying, describing and record product discrepancies as they relate to injection molding.-Maintains the Quarantine cage to ensure it is clean and organized at all times.

• Responsible for placing retains into designated boxes.-Responsible for checking and closing out Customer History Records (CHR), and scanning them to document control prior to filing them.
• Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.-Maintain a clean, orderly work environment in the work stations-Perform and / or assist re-inspection of rework product.
• Perform all other duties as directed, requested or assigned by your supervisor and / or Manager.Pay : $18.50+ / hr (Temp-Direct hire)Shift : 2nd shift (2 : 45pm-11 : 15pm) The ideal candidate should have at least one year of experience performing dimensional inspections.

Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), blueprint reading capability and use of measurement tools : Calipers, Micrometers SmartScope etc.

Qualifications : -Ability to read, write and understand simple instructions, memos and / or emails-Adhere to Good Manufacture Practices (GMPs') and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs')-Knowledge of how to use Calipers, SmartScope, Micrometers, Drop Indicators, Pin Gages, Ring Gages, Bore Gages, Luer Gages, Go / No-Go Gages, Air Flow Testers, Durometers, 1-2-3 blocks, Gage Blocks and vision systems is a plus.

Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.-Ability to multitask and to fully carry out instructions.-Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.

IQMS knowledge is a plus.-Ability to commit to flexible work schedule-Dependable and reliable-Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Other duties : -Must speak, read, Write English, bilingual is a plus. -Basic math and computer skills-Ability to read and Understand Blueprints is a plus.

Ability to use Basic Measurement Tools (caliper, micrometer, pin gauges, and vision system Smart Scope, etc.)Education : High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Demands : -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• The employee is occasionally required to sit, and while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk 80% of the day.
