We are looking for a dedicated Breast Sonographer PRN like you to be a part of our team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The sonographer performs breast ultrasound studies and ultrasound-guided core biopsies in an outpatient setting, providing the highest level of customer service and image quality.

Current hours of operation are 6 am to 4 : 30 pm and may be changed based on the needs of the department. You may be able to select various shift start and end times within the hours of operation, depending on the needs of the department.

What You Will Do in This Role

• You will perform ultrasound exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
• You will competently use the GE Logiq E9.
• You will be familiar with breast ultrasound correlated to mammographic findings and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies.
• You will perform DEXA exams.
• You will perform routine cleaning and maintenance of probes according to specifications.
• You will comply with quarterly targeted metrics (i.e., Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc.).
• You will take patient history and retrieve any necessary orders or prior images.
• You will provide patient history / signs / symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist.
• You will appropriately complete documentation.
• You will coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
• You will inform patients about procedures and answer questions.
• You will interact and professionally communicate with physicians.
• You will maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in job qualifications.
• You will handle daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc.).
• You will promote customer service initiatives by adhering to the ICARE values.
• You will support and participate in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans.
• You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• You will perform other duties as assigned.

What Qualifications You Will Need in This Role

• Graduate of accredited RDMS or ARRT program required.
• ARDMS or ARRT (SON) registered or registry eligible. ARRT (R) preferred.
• Current licensure from ARDMS, or ARRT (S), ARDMS registered in breast, or breast eligible. If not board certified in required discipline upon hire, you will attain certification within 12 months of hire.
• 6 months post-graduate experience with breast ultrasound preferred.
• BLS certification required.
