Job Description
ITW is seeking a Supervisor, Corporate Accounting to be a part of the Corporate Accounting team. The individual will have a strong understanding of financial processes within a large multinational corporate environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated analytical skills, and be able to work independently.
Core Responsibilities :
- Monthly / Quarterly / Annual close processes including preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Record equity compensation activity including monthly amortization, equity exercises and vestings, Director plan activity, basic and dilutive share calculation and prepare annual 10-K disclosure footnote
- Support corporate departments including monthly reporting, accruals and forecast adjustments
- Management of GL system including account maintenance, system parameters, close procedures and reconciliation to consolidation system
- Identify areas for process improvement and streamlining to increase efficiency of department procedures and processes
- Prepare Corporate and domestic payroll entries and maintain payroll bank account reconciliation
- Assist in preparation, consolidation and analysis of annual Corporate Plan
- Assist with various projects, internal and external audit requests, ad hoc projects and assignments as they develop
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business in finance or accounting is required, CPA a plus
- Minimum 5 years relevant corporate and / or industry experience; experience in Corporate Accounting and / or business analysis roles a plus
- Minimum 1-2 years experience with equity compensation accounting
- Effective time management skills to manage multiples priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment are essential
- Strong analytical skills and business / financial acumen
- Attention to detail, with high standards of accuracy and review
- Experience handling highly sensitive information with integrity and maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- High level of proficiency in utilizing Excel, including advanced formulas and basic macros; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Oracle HFM a plus
- Ability to be in the office at the Glenview campus 5 days a week with flexibility on hours.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to research and follow-up timely and independently on pending items
