About the Role : As the Managing Director of Operations, you will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in our senior leadership team.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify and address the operational needs of our growing organization. This includes developing and implementing infrastructure to support our expansion efforts, managing multi-year budgets, and ensuring organizational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, capable of providing tactical support while navigating ambiguity with ease.

Responsibilities : Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO on matters related to infrastructure, staffing, and financial growth.

Direct and organize the work of the Finance, Human Resources, and General Operations departments. Contribute to the development of KOO's strategic goals and objectives, and oversee the overall management of the organization.

Provide guidance on financial planning for both immediate and long-term growth. Manage a Senior Director of Finance and : Collaborate on financial operations, including budget creation, financial reporting, forecasting, and audits.

Ensure compliance with nonprofit finance and accounting regulations. Oversee and perform human resources functions, including personnel management, compliance, and training.

Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to establish annual goals and objectives, and track progress against key metrics.

Serve as a liaison with legal counsel on contractual matters and other legal issues. Collaborate with Facilities Director on management of the Oakland property, including insurance, safety, compliance, and technology.

Minimum Qualifications : Mission alignment as it relates to engaging, encouraging, and empowering youth of color and driving systemic change in education .

5-10 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in a high-growth organization. Experience in financial management and human resources within a nonprofit setting.

Proven track record of driving organizational change and development. Excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and negotiation abilities.

Superior management and leadership capabilities. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to adjust as needed Proficiency in Google Apps and other relevant software.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Value and contribute to sustaining a workplace culture based on trust, collaboration, respect, and honesty Physical Demands and Work Environment : This role requires interpersonal skills, teamwork, basic math, decision-making, and problem analysis.

Compensation The salary for the Managing Director of Operations position is $170,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement contributions, and professional development opportunities.
