The Restaurants team within Square is a focused initiative charged with empowering Food & Drink businesses of all kinds to start, run, and grow their businesses through advanced workflows, specialized products, business insights, and inclusion in the greater Square ecosystem.

  • This position on the Restaurants team will focus on two core parts of the Square for Restaurants growth strategy, namely;
  • Building out the central POS (and soon to be launched mobile version) that Restaurants rely on to run their businesses
  • The expansion of the Square for Restaurants product to international markets.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must be able to transform a deep empathy of a restaurant's needs & pains into elegant software, to think tactically and strategically, to manage deep x-functional collaboration and methodical execution.

You must also be able to drive ambitious growth metrics and own the details of the solution from deep in the stack through the end user experience.

To accomplish this you will work with our leadership team and business leaders to deliver on the high potential of our new products + markets.

You will

  • Drive the development of Squares Restaurants POS + Mobile solutions.
  • Drive the expansion of Square for Restaurants into new international markets.
  • Work across internal teams (Eng, PMM, Data Analytics, etc) and x-functional teams to ensure a cohesive plan and coordinated delivery schedule.
  • Own the technical health and user experience for a suite of products across multiple platforms
  • Partner closely with PMM to build out country-specific needs lists, product roadmap, and go-to-market plans.
  • Work with our leadership team as well as leaders across verticals (Managed Payments, Point of Sale, Capital), and organizations (Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships.

to grow our active Square for Restaurants user base

  • Inspire your cross-functional peers and executives in order to build a strong partnership in delivering excellent products and services
  • Influence key stakeholders throughout Square in order to align intent, resources, and prioritization

Qualifications

You have

  • Experience with or in the Restaurants space
  • Experience building software for hardware products
  • Experience driving key strategies that shaped the investment portfolio of an organization
  • Experience driving growth initiatives that require deeper data analysis (DAU / MAU / LTV are terms and measurements you are drawn to) as well as working through seams and removing friction
  • An international mindset born of your experiences (either professionally or personally)
  • Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs
  • Navigated product scale challenges in a high growth environment
  • Served as an evangelist for a product group
