S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.HelpDuties* Serve as a clinical nurse in a Regional Level II Trauma Emergency Department.

• Provide continuous observation and monitoring to prevent patient complications.* Assist the physician in the performance of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and other procedures to include (insertion of chest tubes, tracheostomies, thoracotomies, suturing lacerations, and more).
• Recognize life threatening situations and act to correct, per protocol.* Administer oxygen, intravenous fluids, blood transfusions and all types of medications during emergent events.
• Operate specialized medical equipment such as resuscitators, defibrillators, electrocardiographs, oxygen apparatus, intravenous pumps, and rapid intravenous infusers.
• Make independent triage decisions based on expert assessment and management skills for all patients seen in the Emergency Room.

This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.

S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note : You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)Licensure : A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States;

Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below : Education / Experience : A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or above) which includes providing nursing care to emergency room patients, administering medications, and providing patient or staff education.
