S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.HelpDuties* Serve as a clinical nurse in a Regional Level II Trauma Emergency Department.

  • Provide continuous observation and monitoring to prevent patient complications.* Assist the physician in the performance of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and other procedures to include (insertion of chest tubes, tracheostomies, thoracotomies, suturing lacerations, and more).
  • Recognize life threatening situations and act to correct, per protocol.* Administer oxygen, intravenous fluids, blood transfusions and all types of medications during emergent events.
  • Operate specialized medical equipment such as resuscitators, defibrillators, electrocardiographs, oxygen apparatus, intravenous pumps, and rapid intravenous infusers.
  • Make independent triage decisions based on expert assessment and management skills for all patients seen in the Emergency Room.
  • Coordinate patient status and referral to ancillary health care professionals.HelpRequirementsConditions of Employment* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.* This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.

  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
