Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for effective preventative and planned maintenance of site assets as well as troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and carpentry at our venue.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $20 to $23.

This position will remain open until September 30, 2024.
Responsibilities
Responsible for daily building and event maintenance needs, such as various repairs, plumbing, HVAC, painting, some electrical work, etc.
- Perform maintenance and repair of facility doors, hardware, seats, furniture, rails, staging, fixtures, associated equipment, as well as locksmith and carpentry needs.
- Communicate arrival, location, and departure with Maintenance Manager or Operations Managers.
- Maintain accurate records of labor time, parts used, repairs needed, and work accomplished through daily logs, maintenance software, and allocation sheets.
- Perform a variety of corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Clearly, effectively, and timely communicate work issues with Maintenance and Operations staff.
- Read & interpret blueprints, specifications, show drawings, schematic manufacturers specifications, and other reference materials to determine appropriate job requirements and procedures.
- Assist with event set-ups and changeover maintenance needs.
- Performs routine inspections to ensure proper safety on various equipment.
- Executes general repairs and adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work, including emergency repairs as required.
- Use and maintain various power and hand tools, meters, test instruments, drills, saws, etc.
- Liaison between Maintenance and Operations teams to facilitate shared use of specialized maintenance and engineering tools.
- Provide excellent professional customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
- Maintain storage areas and equipment in designated areas in a neat and orderly manner.
- Plan work to ensure cost effective use of labor and materials.
- Perform duties and responsibilities with view toward department goals and energy conservation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Experience performing similar job duties in a large facility.
- Any combination of experience and training equivalent to three (3) years of hands-on experience in general facilities and systems maintenance and repair or comparable experience as a trades assistant or laborer with demonstrated proficiency in the required duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Be able to demonstrate proficiency in skilled crafts such as woodworking, drywall, minor plumbing and electrical, painting, tile work, and mechanical repairs.
- Specialized training in a facility maintenance or technical related field preferred.
- Specialized training in skilled crafts
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current CPR certificate
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current forklift license
- Possession of or ability to obtain a South Carolina driver’s license
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent GED and any combination of experience and training equivalent to three (3) years of hands-on experience in general facilities and systems maintenance and repair or comparable experience as a trades assistant or laborer with demonstrated proficiency in the required duties.

Ability to work various workdays and hours to meet business needs including early / late hours, long days, weekends, and holidays.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write daily logs, routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

The employee must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The duties of this job are performed primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors in all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts (the machinery they operate) and is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate to loud on event days.
