PGL, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Engineer - Gas Operations in our Chicago, Illinois location.

Job Summary

The Engineer works under general supervision to provide Engineering support to field staff and personnel through a variety of projects and assignments.

The Engineer evaluates system performance through modeling, develops system designs, oversees construction, maintenance, and operations activities, investigates incidents, trouble-shoots systems and equipment, tests materials, and performs other assignments.

As a Engineer, you will learn to :

• Work with a variety of analytical software to provide solutions to improve efficiency of natural gas transmission and distribution systems
• Monitor progress against compliance due date and year-end targets
• Understand the operation of gas facilities to properly supply natural gas to customers
• Develop knowledge of the installation process of new facilities and the retirement of existing ones as a part of new pipeline construction program
• Ensure we are delivering a quality service to our customers
• Work with various stakeholders and provide input on technical engineering aspects of projects

This position is part of the Engineering job family (Associate Engineer / Engineer / Senior Engineer). Experience will be the determining factor.

These positions are part of our engineering rotation program. This provides our Engineers opportunity to learn a variety of engineering functions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 0-2 years' relevant engineering experience (internship / co-op experience may be included as relevant engineering)
• Must meet company standards for driving and maintain a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years' relevant engineering experience
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Project / process management experience

Pay Range Minimum : $64,949.56

Pay Range Maximum : $139,581.26

Our Associate Engineer salaries begin at $81,000.

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future.

The starting salary / pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.

At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
