We're looking for an Engineer to support multiple application development teams to drive our services and applications at scale.
As a Systems Administrator, you will be part of a highly engaged, high-performing team of reliability engineers who support critical systems and applications across all environments including development, QA, UAT, and in a limited capacity, production.
Our goal is to continuously improve products, processes, and user experiences, leveraging your passion for innovative IT solutions and to support our platform engineers as we adopt a modern vision of DevOps culture.
You will be involved in all aspects of the SDLC process and will gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of our applications to identify monitoring needs and create suitable runbooks.
You will also work closely with business partners, development teams, infrastructure teams, and colleagues across the organization.
The position requires a strong teamwork mindset and background leveraging tooling and automation to achieve maximum process reliability.
Additionally, you much have a continuous focus on collaboration and coordination with related departments and stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and drive positive change at Schwab.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years system administration experience in both Linux and Windows environments
- Strong background with Linux system administration
- Proficient using scripting languages including Bash, Python and PowerShell
- Familiar with databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
- Strong experience with CI / CD tooling
- Experience with configuration management tools, preferably SaltStack
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience using BitBucket and Bamboo or GitHub and GitHub Actions
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts such as routing, subnetting, NATing etc
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related experience
- Experience working in financial or banking industry
