St. Bede the Venerable School is located in La Canada, California near Pasadena. We are looking for a dynamic science teacher to join our team.
Applicants must have an excellent rapport with students, and have a love of teaching (teaching credential preferred). The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree along with strong subject knowledge with Next Generation Science Standards, expertise in science curriculum and instructional strategies.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with educational standards for science.
- Teach life sciences, physical sciences, and earth sciences.
- Utilizing TWIG curriculum, incorporate weekly hands-on experiments, labs, projects, and real-world applications to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Classroom Management :
- Create a positive classroom environment that supports learning and encourages student participation.
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance, and reinforce them consistently.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively and safely, maintain discipline, and resolve conflicts when necessary.
Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring :
- Assess student understanding and progress regularly through quizzes, tests, projects, and assignments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their growth and identify areas for improvement.
- Post weekly academic progress of student grades online and communicate with parents as needed.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
