Sentara Health is seeking PRN RT Students to join their team at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA!

Required Qualifications :

• HS Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS Certification
• Current Student enrolled in clinical Respiratory Care program must be within 3 semesters from graduation from accredited Respiratory Care program

Sentara Leigh Hospital is a Magnet Status, 250-bed facility featuring all patient-friendly private rooms and specializing in orthopedic, gynecological and urological services.

Sentara Leigh offers a contemporary care environment for general medical / surgical and ambulatory services and is home to the orthopedic hospital, which has 48 beds dedicated to specialized orthopedic care.

The hospital offers a full-service Emergency Room with a dedicated observation unit, Critical Care, GI, and Oncology services.

It also encompasses a Family Maternity Center.

Job Summary

Respiratory Students are unlicensed staff members who are within three semesters of graduation from an accredited RT program.

They are accountable to, and work under the supervision of a professional, licensed Respiratory Therapist to perform delegated aspects of Respiratory Care.

This may include both administrative and clinical duties that an unlicensed staff member is able to perform such as some aspects of patient care, cleaning equipment, ordering stock, stocking respiratory supply carts, and performing charge audits / reconciliation

Current Student enrolled in clinical Respiratory Care program must be within 3 semesters from graduation from accredited Respiratory Care program and remain in good standing in the program until graduation.

This is a temporary position for up to 270 days. BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications :

HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
