We are currently looking for talented Turret Punch Press Operators to join our team on 1st and 2nd shift. Training would involve working several weeks on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift.
1st Shift standard hours are 7 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 00 p.m. Mon-Fri (some overtime on Saturday and before / after standard hours).
2nd Shift standard hours are 3 : 00 p.m. to 1 : 00 a.m. Mon-Thur (some overtime on Friday and after standard hours).
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Installs various punches and dies and operates the Amada Turret Punch Press to produce parts to meet customer specifications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Using traveler and blueprint information, pulls appropriate punches and dies from the Tool Crib.
- Checks punches and dies to ensure they are sharp and in good working condition.
- Installs punches and dies into the turret punch. Sets up the machine.
- Downloads program to machine from computer system.
- Runs first piece and takes to inspection or certified operator for approval.
- After 1st piece approval adjust machines if necessary and runs job.
- Using measuring equipment, checks specified dimensions on parts as necessary and plots them on charts to track quality of product and process.
- Performs shakeout and deburrs parts as necessary.
- Fills out all required production paperwork and records.
- Maintains work area in clean and safe condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Requires minimum of 1 to 3 years of industrial manufacturing experience.
- Prior experience setting up and operating an Amada Turret Punch Press.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to read complex blueprints and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Advanced knowledge of fabrication equipment and installation of punches and dies.
- Must know use of basic quality inspection equipment including calipers, tape measure, and micrometers. Ability to follow instructions, read, and write.
Working Conditions
Constant exposure to one or more elements typically found in a manufacturing setting such as noise, dust, heat, fumes or dirt, which may not be desirable.
Exposure to noise requires the use of hearing protection.

Decision-Making / Confidentiality
- Requires continuous mental / visual application. Little or no independent judgment and decision making within Company policies to resolve operational problems and to determine manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Limited exposure to confidential data such as product design information and work center rates.
