- The Head Track and Field Coach / Assistant Cross Country Coach will oversee both men's and women's teams; will coachstudent-athletes;
- prepare the team for HCAC conference / non-conferencecompetitions with the goal to compete nationally. The position will plan anddirect team and player development and training;
skills development in teampractices / workouts and individual skill sessions; organize and execute teampractice and conditioning sessions.
The position will evaluate athletes’performances and make the final decision regarding participation incompetitions. The position will assess opposing team members and devise gamestrategies.
The position will support student-athletes to thriveacademically; integrate student-athletes with Institutional and departmentservices;
act as spokesperson for the department as well as provide leadershipto local and other initiatives. The position will understand and comply withall NCAA Division III compliance, HCAC, and Institute rules and regulations.
The position will supervise the activities of Assistant and part -time coaches;work in collaboration with the trainers and other staff (equipment, sportsinformation, facilities) assigned to the team.
The position will identify,evaluate, and manage ongoing annual recruitment of prospective athletes; developand finalize the selection process for prospective athletes;
conduct officialand unofficial visits, evaluating high-school, club, and collegiate sportsprograms (National or International).
The position will develop and implement practice plansschedule competition, make transportation plans and arrange lodge for teamtravel.
The position will oversee program’s allocated budgets and must remainwithin budget limits; recommend by Athletic Director preferred purchases.
Theposition will lead and support alumni and friends activities; responsible forfundraising and meeting established annual fundraising goals.
Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor's degree in asports-related field and 2-3 years of playing and / or coaching experience or abachelor’s degree in another field and 4-5 years of playing and / or coachingexperience.
Must pass a background and motor vehicle record check.
Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree;demonstrated ability to recruit academically oriented student-athletes;
DivisionIII coaching experience.
