RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Director of Advanced Manufacturing Training is responsible for building relationships with defense industry manufacturers in Maine to create responsive and flexible training programs focused on the Manufacturing 4.
0 standards. This will be accomplished by collaborating with SMCC Faculty in Precision Manufacturing and Pre-Engineering, SMCC Workforce Development administration and staff and in partnership with the Advanced Manufacturing Center at the University of Maine.
Other responsibilities will include developing short-term, certificate awarding credentials and some teaching. This is mostly an administrative position, grant funded for 2 years with the prospect of an additional 2-3 years depending on meeting grant targets and continued funding.
These duties will require a highly-skilled technician with grant management experience, budgeting, curriculum design in manufacturing, teaching, data and narrative reporting and a strong ability to function in a high stress arena.
Must be able to work in a team environment and independently when needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED :
10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing in the defense industry in Maine or similarly related field.
10+ years of experience in training and development in a related field or higher education.
Grant management experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related field with over 5 years of professional experience in manufacturing.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's Degree in Business, Technical Education or related field.
