Job Purpose :
BTIG seeks an experienced, well rounded professional to join the Finance team in San Francisco. This role manages payroll, the general ledger associated with payroll and benefits and acts as the primary liaison with Human Resources.

As a key senior member of the team, the successful candidate is an excellent communicator and who has the desire and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in the organization as well as vendor partners;
mentor staff and effect process change up stream to deliver timely account reconciliations.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for processing semi-monthly, bi weekly & monthly payroll. Responsibilities include : updating and maintaining employee pay profiles, processing leaves and terminations, data entry and file imports (commissions, bonuses, expense reimbursements and 3rd party benefit vendors), review and validation of timecard entries, and review and balancing of preview payroll
- Partner with the HR team to ensure payroll data flows seamlessly between HR and Payroll and ensure changes are implemented correctly across various pay and time attendance systems
- Apply knowledge of both local and state tax regulations, wage and hour laws to ensure compliance
- Support month end close by providing payroll reports and explanations as needed
- Maintain payroll records and follow established Company policies to ensure compliance with internal control protocols
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters in a timely, professional matter
- Point person for any tax audits and gathering requested information
- Devise and implement payroll processes and procedures
- Special projects and other duties as assigned, including system implementations
Requirements & Qualifications :
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on payroll experience at a fast growth company
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred
- Recent experience with the Payroll solutions such as ADP WorkForce Now and Custom Reporting
- Strong knowledge of payroll protocols, particularly with IRS regulations, Federal, State, and local tax and labor laws, as well as IRS Sections 401k and 125
- Excellent Excel skills, with proven ability to develop and generate ad hoc reports
- Experience working with audits and audit teams
- Experience with Netsuite and / or Coupa a plus
- Broker Dealer experience a plus
- Highly analytical with exceptional organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to meet hard deadlines
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Ability to communicate concisely, both written and verbally
