Patient Account Representative (Full Time)

Responsibilities Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a -bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services.

Website : Click here for a Virtual Facility Tour Position Summary The Patient Account Representative is responsible for a group of patient accounts from discharge to final disposition of the account.

The Patients Account Representative will bill the account to third party insurers, follow up with both insurers and patients for their respective balances, and recommend placement of the account if payment cannot be obtained.

Other duties include but are not limited to cash posting, evaluation of credit balances, and responding to patient or guarantor inquiries.

Job Duties / Responsibilities Accurately bills accounts on a daily basis utilizing the MS4 billing editors and Emdeon electronic claims submission clearing house.

Posts cash on a rotational basis with other patient representatives. Completes collection calls to both the third party carrier and the guarantor for each account on the daily work list in MS4, documenting the accounts and assigning an appropriate message code.

Accurately documents Posting batches on the Physician cash log. Posts EOB notes in MS4 for each account. Reconciles patient balances and prepares an accurate and documented adjustment form for review by the BOD of any additional contractual or other adjustments to be posted.

Prepares and submits a Bad Debt Write-off Approval form to Business Office Director for accounts recommended for outside placement including Bankruptcy notifications.

Minimum of two year’s experience in hospital billing, and collection of third party and self pay accounts required Demonstrated competency in : Account Billing, Cash Posting, Collection Calls, Credit Balances / Patient Account Balances, Bad Debt Write Off / Denied Status Accounts / Charity Determinations Technical skills and the ability to set priorities, multi task and work efficiently.

Experience in MS4, Midas, Emdeon and Microsoft Office products.
