Car Wash Technician

Position Summary :

The Carwash Maintenance Technician at Terrible's Self-Serve Wash is responsible for performing daily technical repairs and maintenance to ensure that carwash equipment operates smoothly according to manufacturer specifications.

The role includes dismantling equipment to remove defective parts, assisting with equipment installation, and maintaining the physical condition of the store.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform daily technical repairs and maintenance to ensure equipment operates smoothly.
• Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment for special projects as assigned.
• Conduct regular inspections of stores and report problem areas to the supervisor.
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Maintain and manage parts and supplies needed for job completion, ensuring proper inventory levels.
• Repair broken lines, maintain foamers, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other parts of carwash equipment.
• Diagnose and correct equipment problems as necessary.
• Record maintenance and repair work performed, along with associated costs, by completing service work orders in a timely manner.
• Complete transfer forms for accurate inventory part counts and proper allocation.
• Assist management in cost control efforts.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Attributes :

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Maintenance-related trade school education is preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience, preferably in the field.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
• Willing and able to travel long distances when necessary.
• Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot medium to complex mechanical / electrical problems.
• Experience working with various hand and power tools.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with store personnel, customers, and management.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, on-call, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.

This role is vital for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of Terrible's Self-Serve carwash facilities, requiring a proactive and skilled technician to ensure high standards of performance and customer satisfaction.

REASONING ABILITY : The ability to apply logical thinking to execute instructions and resolve problems is crucial.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The role requires regular standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

The applicant must also be able to perform duties in varying work conditions, such as confined spaces.
