Transporting students to and from school and other activities in a safe and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent as required by OAR 581-37-030, Oregon Department of Education.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Appropriate Oregon School Bus Drivers License
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of students and their records.
- Ability to demonstrate standards of moral character and behavior to serve as an effective role model for students
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and staff.
- Drives school bus on an assigned route.
- Loads and unloads students at specific stops on an established time schedule with the utmost regard for safety
- Checks vehicle gas, oil, signals, wipers, brakes, lights, water and other components to assure proper levels and / or operation prior to each trip.
- Records gas, oil and mileage readings.
- Keeps vehicle clean inside and out.
- Does not drive more than ten total hours during any consecutive fifteen hour period.
- Must be willing and able to occasionally drive on weekends and during night time hours.
- Drives bus on special trips outside the district.
- Maintains discipline on bus and reports discipline problems according to district policy and procedures.
- Attends classes and training to keep license current.
- Reports traffic violations related to school bus operation to city, county, or state police agencies.
- Abides by federal and state laws and school district policies, procedures and rules.
- Makes provision for a responsible person to guard the rear of buses when backing up on school grounds.
- Participate in in-service training as assigned.
- Act as a friendly ambassador for the Mt. Angel School District.
- Perform such other duties (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may be assigned. Abides by federal and state laws and school district policies, procedures and rules.
- Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with community and staff.
- Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
- Complies with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Attends work regularly and is punctual.
- Perform such other duties (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may be assigned.

PAY RANGE : $20.91 - $25.72
CONTRACT LENGTH : 192 days (adjusted)
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CDL & ODE School Bus Driver's Certificate
- First Aid / CPR Training preferred
