General Summary
CCL is looking for a first shift Maintenance & Operations Assistant. Perform various landscaping, facilities, operations and duties as needed or assigned.
Perform landscape maintenance which includes operating various lawn equipment such as mowers, weed whackers, chainsaw, quad with plow or wagon, etc.
Know and strictly adhere to general rules of safety. Perform a wide variety of facilities duties such as setting up classrooms, changing light bulbs, delivering packages, moving furniture or other materials, assisting with housekeeping and performing other maintenance tasks as required.
Perform various operations duties as needed to include assisting with mailroom, distribution, administrative tasks.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Change light bulbs, hang pictures, deliver / pick up packages, and perform other light maintenance tasks as required. Maintain light bulb stock.
- Set up classrooms and labs for programs. Check and reset conference rooms.
- Move furniture, supplies, mail, and boxes as required.
- Check and clean all patio furniture daily in the morning.
- Replace ceiling tiles as needed.
- Assist with general maintenance work.
- Assist with snow removal and storm damage repairs.
- Sweep building curbs weekly.
- Assist in monitoring parking lot during special functions.
- Water plants as needed.
- Perform housekeeping / custodial work as required.
- Assist with operations duties as needed, to include mailroom, distribution and administrative tasks.
Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Required
- Good communication skills and the ability to read and follow oral and written instructions. This is normally acquired through the completion of a high school education.
- Current driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to operate a computer, i.e. send, read and receive e-mail and utilize Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prepare reports, written instructions, schedules, etc.
- Ability to work independently, with exemplary interpersonal skills. Knowledge of irrigation systems, pond pumps, sprinklers and sprinkler time clocks.
- Ability and willingness to report to work during times when travel may be made more difficult due to snow or ice on the roadways.
Willing to report to work as needed on Saturdays, Sundays, and in the evening / at night. Required to perform snow removal or other duties as early as 4am on heavy snow days.
- Ability to operate related tools and equipment.
- Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform maintenance / custodial tasks including bending, climbing, and lifting of up to 40 lbs.
Pay and Benefits
- The hiring range for this role is $17-$19 an hour. offer will be commensurate with relevant qualifications and professional experience
