AD-Senior Creative Lead

Perception is looking to add a talented, passionate and driven Senior Creative Lead ONSITE at our studio in Secaucus, NJ.

This is NOT a fully remote position. Applicants must be within commutable distance from our studio in NJ and able to work on site, full-time.

We are currently in hybrid mode (M / T / W at studio T / F WFH) with 3 days at the studio and 2 optional.

The creative in this position will be expected to contribute conceptually, creatively and technically to projects for major film studios and the biggest names in technology, while working alongside highly experienced artists within a terrific learning environment.

Key Responsibilities :

This is a creative leadership role - prior experience is a must, including extensive experience presenting and art directing.

• Top notch presentation skills, articulate communicator and comfortable speaking in front of executive level clients are a must.
• Comfortable leading team brainstorms, team pitches, workshops.
• Strong ability to motivate and inspire your team and clients alike.
• Be a mentor to your fellow team members - teaching and sharing your skills and wisdom to build and grow each member's talents.
• You will still be very hands on with the work as well. You must possess killer animation skills and design / styleframes.

Conceptualizing new projects through innovative style frame and storyboard designs. Execute 2D and 3D animated sequences from existing story boards and compositing full scenes.

Maintain and exceed Perception’s design philosophies.

Knowledge of standard industry tools (Creative Cloud + Cinema 4D). An ability and willingness to learn new platforms and technologies (GPU Rendering etc).

Seek out and learn new and more efficient techniques constantly to help improve workflow and design productivity.

• Use design thinking to solve complex creative challenges that require clever and thoughtful approaches. Always strive to push yourself to try new creative solutions and achieve higher levels of design excellence.
• Build pitch documents and presentations.
• Develop and write clear and thought out treatments for pitches and awarded projects.
• Demonstrate high level UX and UI capabilities in areas of design, principals and strategy for the wide range of technology and film clients Perception works with.
• Maintain a passion for the cross-section of films & technology (FUI, Title Sequences, AR, VR etc) and Science Fiction Thinking.

Always in pursuit of best practices for User Interface design, User Experience Strategies, and Design Problem Solving.

• Maintain and enforce Perception’s highest standards of security and quality control across all projects.
• Identifying talented resources to expand freelance and staff. Help build the team at Perception.
• Be a thinker and contributor for Perception’s clients and their businesses. Constantly thinking of other ways Perception can help them succeed in ways that aren’t spelled out in a creative brief.

Thinking outside the box and putting yourself in the clients shoes to uncover hidden opportunities for Perception.

• Share ideas and insights on potential directions and creative opportunities for the Company.
• Be a team player, contributing and being a valuable member of the design group at Perception. Actively participating in presentations, brainstorming sessions, writing treatments, and offering constructive criticism to your peers in order to consistently raise the bar of creative excellence.
• Execute any requests from upper management (CCD, COO and founders) deemed necessary for Perception.
