Frazer and Jones are looking to add to our operations. We are actively hiring a Machine Shop Operator on the 2nd Shift to support the business.
This position is a good fit for early career individuals or those that might have taken a break from the workforce. Experience is preferred but not needed, we will help train the right candidate.
Essential Job Functions :
- Drills, taps, reams, or coins castings to specifications for the correct tolerance and quality standards.
- Sets up and adjusts machines to produce parts within specifications, changes worn, or broken tooling as needed.
- Records and monitors individual output against the production plan, including processed units and scrap rates.
- Collaborates with other team members to optimize production processes and meet production targets.
- Adheres to safety guidelines and maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Troubleshoots and resolves machine-related issues to minimize downtime, escalates issues to foreman or maintenance department as needed.
- Reads and interprets work orders to understand project specifications.
- Other duties as assigned by the foreman / departmental supervisor.
Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma, GED or ability to understand and communicate with fundamental English.
- Prior manufacturing, quality control or foundry experience preferred.
- Ability to record castings processed using simple mathematics and understand work procedures and policies especially as they relate to quality and safety.
Work Schedule and Hours :
- 2nd Shift 2 : 00 PM 10 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- 8-hour shift assigned, may be requested to work overtime via extended shifts or assigned Saturday overtime.
Pay and Benefits :
- $18.44 - $21.18 per hour.
- Overtime after 8 hours in a day and after 40 hours in a week.
