OrthoAtlanta is seeking a motivated and experience DME manager to administer its Durable Medical Equipment program for sites located throughout Georgia.
This is a new position and the selected candidate will be tasked with standardizing processes and inventory across all of OrthoAtlanta.
This position requires knowledge of all DME operations including, fitting patients, equipment selection, inventory management, billing, regulatory compliance, retail sales, third party billing, and marketing.
The ideal candidate will provide leadership for continuous service and quality improvement, innovation and staff empowerment, accomplished through effective internal and external customer relations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for compliance with government regulatory agencies
- Oversees the development / implementation of quality programs
- Works with Operations to update allowable amounts to cost of DME
- Works with Clinical Assistant on ensuring par amounts for inventory
- Act as representative on the DME committee
- Function as liaison with physicians
- Able to develop strategies for growth in the DME department
- Training of clinical staff on fitting, measuring of braces as well as casting as needed
- Troubleshoot DME software issues, i.e. MotionMD and Systemedx
- Travel to all OrthoAtlanta locations
Requirements :
Needs at least 5 years of clinical experience in training and fitting DME and 5 years of the business side of DME. I.e.
the cost analysis of DME, finding alternative DME options for providers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology or Sports Medicine required
- An understanding of allowable amounts to cost of DME.
- An understanding of par amounts for inventory.
- Able to be articulate and be the contact point for the DME committee.
- Able to problem solve when DME is not doing what the physicians want.
- Able to strategize on ways to grow DME department.
- Successful at nurturing and developing external relationships
- Possess strong organizational leadership ability.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Inventory control experience
- Ability to handle a variety of functions simultaneously with multiple interruptions
- Experience with MotionMD and Systemedx preferred
- Must have valid Drivers License
