Why does the job exist?
The Accountant & Auditor - Advanced will :
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations for multiple, complex programs ensuring accuracy in the general ledger;
- Prepare monthly trial balances for governmental and fiduciary funds;
- Ensure audit requirements are met and the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules for the assigned fund;
- Ensure the Agency complies with all state and federal rules and regulations while effectively working and communicating with other Bureaus and Divisions within the Agency.
How does it get done?
The Accountant & Auditor Advanced is responsible for :
- Running reports from SHARE;
- Preparing trial balances;
- Reconciling and reviewing financial data;
- Reconciling the general ledger to third party interface systems for Human Services Department (HSD) programs;
- Reviewing financial transactions (Journal Entries) ;
- Preparing and monitoring financial transactions and adjustments within assigned fund;
- Assisting with annual financial audit, audit deliverables, schedules and adjusting journal entries;
- Working with management, staff, auditors and internal / external customers to ensure accuracy of the general ledger.

Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Canidate has :
- Experience in accounting including reconciliation of complex accounting entries;
- Analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task;
- SHARE experience;
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance and / or budgeting.
