POSITION SUMMARY
To communicate regularly with students, staff, and administration on academic literacy progress and concerns. To provide direct instruction to students at the elementary level in order to deliver Framingham Public Schools’ high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the opportunity gap among subgroups within the school.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS :
A current and valid MA DESE license in Reading and / or a current and valid MA DESE license in Elementary 1-6. Additional content license is encouraged.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in the area of major study. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with and / or teaching elementary school students with an understanding of the needs of students at this age.
Training and experience in the use of instructional technology.

and to use instructional technology appropriately and work with students to facilitate their use of instructional technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Provide direct support of student learning;
- Implement effective reading instruction using appropriate instructional techniques based on the individual needs of each student;
- Collect and analyze data gained from intervention cycles to reflect on the effectiveness of the intervention and to determine appropriate next steps;
- Modify instructional approaches and other functions from data gathered during reading remediation sessions;
- Provide services that hold the well-being of each student paramount;
- Plan evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students;
- Provide consistent and prompt feedback and reinforcement to students;
- Create the literacy Title I intervention schedule for identified students;
- Provide feedback to teachers on students' progress including the use of effective techniques and strategies that have proven successful;
- Administer formal and informal assessments using the appropriate assessment instruments;
- Present and explain data to various teams and prepare intervention summaries;
- Provide appropriate information on an informal basis regarding reading remediation programs;
- Effectively write and communicate intervention results and assessments in a manner easily understood by staff and families;
- Collaborate with staff regarding the needs and progress of students receiving reading services;
- Communicate effectively with the administrators, team evaluation coordinator, literacy coaches, special education teachers, interventionists, and classroom teachers on an ongoing basis;
- Monitor student progress and report to coaches and administration;
- Safeguard confidentiality;
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Building Principal.

- Must be able to assist students who have physical difficulties;
- May be required to move quickly across even or uneven surfaces;
- Working in a normal school environment with an acceptable level of noise;
- Must interact with students, parents, and other staff members;
- Must be able to kneel, sit, stand, crawl, push, and pull to assist and teach children throughout the day;
- Is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students;
- Must be able to interact with students, parents, and other staff members and occasionally must meet multiple demands from several people;
- While the majority of the workday is spent inside, must spend time outdoors for recess, fire drills, and special activities;
- May be exposed to bodily fluids, disease, or pathogens;
- May receive unintentional injuries from aggressive students;
