Job Title : Lathe Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist with experience in programming on the controller (Fanuc / Mastercam) for lathe operations.
The role involves a variety of tasks including making tooling, operating two lathes (Doosan turret lathe and a live spindle lathe mill turn), and ensuring smooth production processes.
This position requires working independently and being responsible for checking one's own parts. The machinist will supply their own tools and handle materials such as steel, aluminum, and titanium.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate lathes using Fanuc / Mastercam controllers.
- Make tooling and operate Doosan turret lathe and live spindle lathe mill turn.
- Perform various tasks to keep mills running, including tooling and production changes.
- Check parts independently to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Run jobs for varying durations, from a week to multiple setups in a day.
- Work with various materials including steel, aluminum, and titanium.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, blueprints, and tooling specifications.
- Ensure production stays on schedule to meet customer delivery dates.
Essential Skills
- Experience with Mastercam and Fanuc controllers.
- Proficiency in operating CNC lathes and performing CNC setups.
- Knowledge of G&M codes, turning centers, offsets, and live spindle operations.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds.
- Must be a citizen of the USA or a legal resident alien.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Understanding of the importance of adhering to company safety and quality management system policies.
- Capability to identify tooling and hardware.
