In this role you will support the engineering team by performing preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, and integration for flight as well as ground systems.

Critical aspects of this role involve coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities.

Your will be responsible for the design, manufacture, procurement and test for the propulsion system components and assemblies.

Other Responsibilities include but not limited to -

  • Support Subsystem Integration
  • Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components
  • Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution
  • Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
  • Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components
  • Provide requirements flow-down, verification, and maintain technical baseline at the suppliers
  • Ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, detailed design / analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.
  • Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.
  • Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.

  • Knowledge of Nuclear Engineering
  • Experience with GitLab
  • Experience with Linux and / or Unix
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Control Logic
  • Advanced degree in engineering (nuclear / aerospace or closely related)
  • Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Familiarity with Fluid Mechanics
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress / thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality )
  • Excellent verbal / written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
