Position Summary :
The Shipping Supervisor oversees warehousing, inventory, and distribution functions to ensure service levels meet or exceed customer expectations at optimal costs.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Maintain a safe work environment by strictly adhering to client's safety policies and procedures, emphasizing continuous improvement in safety and housekeeping.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce Shipping and Receiving policies and procedures.
- Resolve transportation, logistics, and customer-related issues.
- Negotiate transportation rates and services.
- Optimize warehouse layout design for efficient storage and safety.
- Coordinate with Sales to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage all shipping personnel and dedicated truck drivers, if applicable.
- Oversee maintenance of the leased forklift fleet.
- Maintain departmental metrics, reports, and process documentation.
- Assist in monthly physical inventory of finished products and raw materials.
- Collaborate with Account Executives and managers to enhance Customer Satisfaction, Quality, and Efficiency.
- Prepare various reports and records.
- Schedule and assign shipments of finished goods in an economical manner while meeting plant and customer requirements.
- Foster professional relationships with carrier personnel.
- Ensure overall housekeeping and finished goods inventory security.
- Develop, discipline, and ensure safety of shipping and traffic employees.
- Supervise shipping / receiving department operations, personnel, and schedules.
- Responsible for inventory rotation and tracking.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related field from a 4-year college; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing / warehouse environment, preferably in logistics.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with Peoplesoft software desired.
Skills & Abilities :
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of materials and inventory control practices.
Physical Demands & Work Environment :
- Manufacturing / warehouse environment with extreme temperatures, humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
- Personal protective equipment required, including safety shoes, hearing protection, bump caps, and safety glasses.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand / walk for up to 8 hours.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, gripping, reaching, squatting, and bending.
- Continuous safe climbing and descending of stairs (applies to sites with stairs).

Schedule :
Must rotate shifts every 30 days : 30-days on 1
shift, 30-days on 3
shift, then 30-days on 2
shift.
Mandatory overtime including weekends.
Salary :
- Starting pay at $50,000 annually. Based on experience.
- Benefits eligible, first day of month following 30 days of employment.
