General
The Manager, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for the manufacturing activities at Rochester’s facility. This position requires autonomy and has responsibility for the quality & quantity of production.
The Assembly operations manager leads the manufacturing teams responsible for making high quality assembled Integrated Circuits.
Responsibilities
- Ensures production material is processed in a high-quality manner while meeting the production schedule and customer expectations, and performing to department goals.
- Sets manufacturing priorities for assembly to meet scheduled out dates.
- Supervise staff, responding to subordinate requests, managing time cards, and resolving personnel issues through coaching, counseling, and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Recruit, select, onboard, train, and mentor employees to adhere to relevant specifications and procedures.
- Responsible for MES software transactions; tracking yield, cost and cycle time for assembly area.
- Drives efforts to bring process and quality into conformance with quality standards such as TS16949, ISO / QS 9001 and / or MIL-STD-38535
- Review, analyze, and maintain key process indicators, including monthly quad charts and quarterly presentations, by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data;
responding to data requests and developing plans to meet business objectives.
- Delivers professional service, support and communications in all interactions with customers, suppliers and Rochester employees, consultants and partners.
- Driving continual improvement programs using lean manufacturing methodology
- Works cross functionally across manufacturing teams to improve overall processes, methods and systems.
- Works with the training department to evaluate and implement training and development needs to improve employee skills.
- Evaluates and develops new compliance measures for manufacturing efforts.
- Ensures that workplace / factories are held to corporate and 5S standards
- Perform additional duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, manufacturing, or related field required, or equivalent number of years of experience in lieu of degree; and with;
- Minimum of 8 years of semiconductor assembly manufacturing, or other related experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role demonstrating leadership skills;
or other equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume production environment preferred.
- Familiarity or quick development of computer skills, specifically with ERP and MES systems.
- Knowledge of semiconductor assembly, materials, processes and equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S and Continuous Improvement tools helpful.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and time manage available resources and adapt to the current business environment.
- Appreciation of our quality standards and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
