HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Program Manager for our Fleet Sustainment Carrier organization in our Virginia Beach, VA location.

The individual selected for this role will serve as the Department Manager for the Carrier Division, overseeing 180+ employees.

The individual will set objectives and provide guidance to subordinate managers and supervisors based on division goals and company policy.

Responsibilities will also include overall day-to-day activities of managing government contracts, including contract compliance, customer interface, and initiating subcontracts as required.

What you will do :

  • Responsible for the profit and loss of an extensive complex program.
  • Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.
  • Responsible for serving multiple customers requiring developing and managing plans across several subcontractors.
  • Responsible for overseeing programs at multiple geographic locations, covering remote locations, multiple business functions, and employees directly assigned to the program.
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Develop new business and expand existing services with the customer.
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program problems, and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Direct the work of employees, including management level assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.

What you must have :

  • Engineering or technical bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience; or an Engineering or technical master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Must have 8 + years engineering experience with an in-depth understanding of Commander Naval Air Forces (Atlantic and Pacific), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Newport News, Newport News Shipbuilding, and Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center.
  • Must have extensive years of managerial experience involving direct control and responsibility over subordinate groups working in an engineering discipline.
  • Must be highly experienced with U.S. Navy aircraft carriers' operations, maintenance, and repairs and have extensive years of senior-level management experience supporting U.S. Navy programs.
  • Will be required to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance and a Common Access Card (CAC) or DBIDS badge for access to DOD facilities.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements

A working knowledge of the Naval Shipyards, the Carrier Planning Activity, and PEO Carriers.

A thorough knowledge of ship's force infrastructure for Aircraft Carriers.

Prior shipboard operational and maintenance experience as a member of the U.S. Navy or Civil Service equivalent is required.

Knowledge of current and emerging technology capabilities relevant to Navy Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) including 3D printing / additive manufacturing and repair capabilities.

Knowledge of Navy programs and plans for digital transformation in support of MRO activities.

Master's Degree preferred (Business, Technical, or Engineering).

Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet / floor level.
