WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist who will provide administrative support to human resources function, including recruiting and interviewing, manage HRIS processes, payroll administration, and maintain accurate team member information in our HRIS platform.

This candidate will onboard and process employment applications, compile various HR management reports, and respond to inquiries regarding policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will help to re-establish the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community around the world.

KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and ensure accuracy of HRIS data and set up new hires, process terminations, and manage onboarding, including, I-9 verification, and setting up Payroll Debit Cards for team members.
  • Review personnel records from our Onboarding Platform, Harri, to determine accuracy of data, such as names, rates of pay and job titles of newly hired team members.
  • Ensure team member data accurately transfers over from Harri into Paylocity.
  • Review and process changes of HRIS data such as wage rates, promotions, title changes, and department changes of team members in Paylocity.
  • Support HR team with Recruiting, such as posting jobs, sourcing and screening resumes, setting up interviews for managers and being the liaison for all candidates with hiring managers.
  • Provide payroll support, such as, review and approve payroll deductions, including Tips reimbursement and prepare reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ensure timecards are complete and signed off by team members and supervisors in Harri platform.
  • Verify and audit hours worked for accuracy, contact appropriate supervisor regarding discrepancies and missing information.
  • Create and send regular reports to cafes such as active not paid report and FT / PT status audit.
  • Assist in answering HR and payroll questions and providing support to employees by resolving individual issues including conveying information regarding policies and procedures.
  • Maintain internal contact list for corporate and franchisees (PB contact list on Teams and Franconnect).
  • Produce ad-hoc reports pertaining to HR requirements.
  • Work closely with HR team with Open Enrollment and processing of Open Enrollment on Paylocity platform.
  • Assist with performing quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Respond to all unemployment claims in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred, or 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Bakery / Café or retail experience preferred.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local labor laws and HR regulations.
  • Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible management style, with a successful record of accomplishment of managing senior operations leaders across a large geographically decentralized portfolio.
