Key Responsibilities :

• Manage PostgreSQL databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, database server resources, systems, and key processes.
• Provide 24 / 7 support for critical production systems and perform regular database tuning and performance optimization.
• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot PostgreSQL database performance issues, resolve outages, and automate administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with application developers to create optimized queries and schemas to meet the project needs.
• Conduct regular security monitoring to identify potential vulnerabilities and proactively implement solutions.
• Stay current with PostgreSQL features and technologies to enhance database services. Secure experience in Data Quality, Source Systems Analysis, Business Rules Validation, Source Target Mapping Design, Performance Tuning, and High-Volume Data Loads.

Required Skills and Experience :

• 5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in database administration, backups, recovery, and security.
• Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.
• In-depth knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for PostgreSQL.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl for automation.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS for PostgreSQL for PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with replication and load balancing for PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of other relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.
• Familiarity with database migration tools and techniques.
