Cohen & Company is seeking a Tax Senior Manager or Managing Director with a focus in REITs , Private Equity Real Estate Funds, and Private Developers, and an entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to client service to join our team!
Responsibilities :
Business Development :
- Responsible for strategy and growth of the firm’s REIT services, including identifying market trends, anticipating opportunities, and developing go-to-market strategies / plans.
- Build strong relationships and interact regularly with clients, internal client partners, and external industry groups to drive strategic technical leadership hires.
Client Experience :
- Serve and build relationships with clients, ensuring we provide quality work, open communication, sound advice, and proactive service.
- Develop a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of REIT clients, focusing on REIT structuring and compliance.
- Work with private equity real estate funds on entity structure and related issues.
- Work with private developers on tax strategy and planning.
- Adjust client pricing, strategy, and services as necessary.
Leadership, Mentorship & Staff Development :
- Respect and celebrate the value of each team member’s background and perspectives.
- Provide mentoring and motivation to the team, developing young leaders through training and development.
- Exhibit forward thinking, innovation, and deliver exceptional work products.
Technical :
- Perform Senior Manager or Managing Director level tax advisory, compliance review, and tax return signoff.
- Serve as a go-to resource for technical questions or knowledge.
- Act as a technical and / or business leader both internally and externally.
Qualifications : Required :
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree; CPA or JD.
- 10+ years of progressive experience within tax, preferably in a public accounting firm.
Estimated Salary Range : $100,000 - $250,000*
Salaries offered are determined based on factors such as candidate's relevant skillset, experience, licensure, and certifications.
