Your Role on Our Team :

As a self-driven engineer, you will pursue early research and development on new and emerging technologies in such areas as Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Materials Development, Data & AI / ML, as well as advancements in prototyping and testing.

You will take full ownership of these technologies, becoming the subject matter expert, and introduce innovative solutions through rapid proof-of-concepts, prototyping and experimentation.

You must possess a strong background of engineering fabrication and prototyping processes along with a mindset to support those activities as part of delivering new technology applications.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead research & development of emerging technologies through proof of concepts and prototype builds
• Be the subject matter expert in defining, designing, and delivering on front-end, advanced engineering
• Leveraging the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), you will de-risk technologies to a level of maturity ready for broader organization introduction
• Perform hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing of components, fixtures, and equipment
• Ability to create part and assembly drawings in CAD (NX, SolidWorks)
• Create and run test plans utilizing Design of Experiments (DOE)
• Foster and maintain partnerships with internal and external engineering teams
• Support development of test and measurement tools and processes

• Inquisitive nature and self-starter that takes a never-settle approach
• Effective communicator that reports out new technology to peers, management, and cross-functional groups
• Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams including internationally
• Desire to continually upskill and learn both professionally and technically
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools (ANSYS, MATLAB, Simulink, etc)

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related field
• 2+ years working in a research and development environment
• Experience developing and protecting intellectual property (IP)
• Ability to travel 10% of the time, domestic and international
• Mechanical aptitude and desire to be hands-on
