Medical Services of America Inc. currently seeks a full-time Accounts Payable Supervisor for our Corporate office in Lexington, SC.
This person will be responsible for posting payments into the accounts payable system, supervising the Account Payable & Senior Accounts Payable Specialists and overseeing the day to day operations of the accounts payable department.
- Actively participates in performing any accounts payable tasks during peak demand on department resources.
- Edits reports for accuracy and reasonableness prior to printing checks and final reports.
- Prints, signs, collates and disburses accounts payable checks under the direct supervision of the Controller.
- Maintains the accounts payable file system.
- Communicates information to vendors upon requests.
- Assists the Controller with recruitment, staff development, and performance evaluations for AP Department.
- Schedules and directs weekly department meetings.
- Assists Accounts Payable Specialists & Senior Account Payable Specialist in solving problems with vendors.
- Provides weekly reports to controller of department activities and status of pending work flow.
- Performs job duties accurately and within management timeframes.
- Demonstrates initiative to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks.
- Recommends and / or supports changes to policies and procedures.
- Takes action to enforce rules and confronts staff regarding problems when necessary.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements
- BS or BA degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years accounting experience preferred.
- Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software experience strongly preferred.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience strongly preferred.
- Crystal Reports and database experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Self-motivation, strong work ethic and willingness to get the job done mentality required.
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
